HSEQ Manager

Position – Full time, Permanant, Location - Aston, Birmingham Role Create reports on regular inspections of construction sites, materials, and workmanship to verify compliance with industry standards, regulations, and project specifications. •Collaborate with project teams to develop and update quality control plans, ensuring they align with project requirements. •Monitor and document construction processes, identifying any deviations or non-conformities. •Perform root cause analyses for quality issues and recommend corrective actions. •Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to address quality-related concerns promptly. •Participate in pre-construction meetings to set quality expectations and guidelines. •Review project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and test reports. •Maintain accurate records of inspections, findings, and corrective actions. •Attend project, design, delivery and other meetings Line Management •Line Manager of Quality, Health and Safety and Progressive Assurance teams •Progressive assurance is the pro active methodology of desktop monitoring of build through live photos to detect and prevent defective work before it occurs Skills and Experience •The successful Health and Safety CDM Manager should ideally hold the following: •NEBOSH Construction Certificate or similar •Graduate or Technical membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) •An understanding of the Construction process •Utilities industry experience •Excellent organisation and presentation skills •Line Management experience •Experienced in NEC forms of construction contracts on infrastructure projects Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Benefits: Company pension Free parking On-site parking Schedule: Holidays Monday to Friday Work Location: In person Reference ID: HSEQ Manager

Fibre Delivery Manager

Position – Full time - Permanent, Location – Aston Birmingham Role This is a Senior role in the Callan Connect Delivery Portfolio. We are looking for an experienced individual with at least 3 years experience in Fibre Delivery. The successful candidate will lead the Fibre Delivery teams (subcontractor and direct employees) and work with business counterparts in designing and delivering the overall construction programme. Main responsibilities will include: •Responsible for the Fibre Delivery across all build cities and owner of the Fibre Delivery plan •Line Manager of the Fibre Supervisors (Field) •Support the programme team in supplying progress reports on all fibre work activities •Issue and jeopardy management •Tracking the progress of all direct fibre works and preparing reports for commercial team •Quantity tracking and governance against the build, supporting the site manager and commercial team •Verifying the subcontractor invoices ahead of commercial team - approving completion of works •Manage the onsite variations and additional works to ensure it’s tracked and updates given to the asbuilt and commercial teams •Stakeholder Management – internal stakeholders and client stakeholder relationship management Manage client expectations including site walk off/audits with the client •Drive quality and compliance in the field Skills and Experience Experienced in Telecoms FTTP build - detailed understanding BDUK experience •Excellent communicator •Reliable, conscientious, and co-operative Ability to lead a team, work on own initiative Experience of working with city planners and network architecture teams – therefore a detailed understanding of a fibre build and network delivery Previous experience overseeing engineering staff Self-motivated, able to motivate others effectively and work as part of a team Excellent time-management skills Great communication skills at all levels Good commercial and cost management experience Working knowledge of Microsoft packages •Full UK Driving Licence. Fibre Supervisor

Position – Full time - Permanent, Location – Multi Site Callan Connect are currently recruiting for an experienced Fibre Supervisor to join our busy team who will act on behalf of Callan Connect to lead multi-discipline cabling and splicing subcontractor teams to deliver on our City Fibre network build The successful applicant would need to be from a strong fibre background, ideally with Openreach and FTTH network build experience. This is a great opportunity to work with a rapidly expanding company that offer real career progression. Key responsibilities include; · Overseeing all subcontractor activities on the build works – cabling, overhead, splicing and test teams · Ensure all onsite activities are managed to the highest standards · Day to day management of the teams on-site to ensure HSEQ and production levels are maintained at all times · Ensuring correct SLG set ups within the field teams · Manage client/contractor expectations including site walk off/audits with the client · Correct interpretation of utility drawing · Ability to spot network defects and rectify onsite · Provide network solutions to problematic issues · Support and lead direct teams on handover activity · Support the Fibre Manager with all on site delivery targets and ensure early call out of issues that may impact delivery The ideal candidate must possess the following skills and experience: · Experienced in Telecoms · FTTP build - Fibre cable installation / splicing / testing experience. · Previous role Supervising engineering staff · Valid Accreditation, Signing, Lighting and Guarding. · Knowledge of or experience working on Openreach network and relevant accreditations · Self-motivated, able to motivate others effectively and work as part of a team · Excellent time-management skills · Great communication skills at all levels · Working knowledge of Microsoft packages · Underground and Overhead experience · Advantageous - Knowledge and experience of cabling, splicing, and testing. · Full UK Driving Licence. Plant Fitter

Position – Full time - Permanent, Location – Aston Birmingham Responsibilities for a Plant Fitter Be responsible for repairing a range of plant equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults. Carry out diagnostics, services, inspections and repairs. Keeping records up to date. Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations. Keep workshop organised, clean and tidy and assist with general workshop duties as and when required. Carry out any other reasonable duties as deemed necessary by the Supervisor or site operations manager. Attend Site to Repair Equipment When Needed. Requirements for a Plant Fitter Full UK Driving licence. Can do attitude. Good communication. Able to Work Without Instruction. Ideally have a City & Guilds or at least NVQ Level 2 (Or above) in Plant, Engineering. Previous Small Plant experience (Required). Experience of working on LGV/HGV Vehicles (Preferred). Schedule: 07.00-17.00 Mon-Fri Weekend work also available. Job Type: Full time. Pay: £16+ per hour dependant on experience. Work Location: Birmingham, West Midlands. Other industries considered.
